Jay walkthrough the forest of trees with leaves gilded in silver. He stopped in a glad the sun shining down on him. He knew this place it was the forest of Silverleaf where he had been born and lived for 19 years. Before he had met Seth. He placed his hand on his round belly. He wondered where Seth was and why he was not with him and their unborn son. Jay felt his son shift inside his belly and he smiled when he heard a noise. He turned and saw an old man walkout of the forest. He gasped it was his grandfather. He ran to his grandfather and embraced him. Merrin did not say anything but embraced Jay and looked down at him. His look Jay and Jay felt the pride and love his grandfather had for him. Merrin looked at Jays pregnant belly and smiled as he touched it and Jay felt his unborn child respond to Merrin's touch. Jay pressed himself into his grandfather and closed his eyes not wanting the feeling to end. When Jay opened his eyes, the world had shifted. Merrin had disappeared and the forest had gone crimson. He knew this to the terror that had come with the crimson corruption. Jay looked around for his grandfather when he saw them appearing all around him animal and humanoid shapes. Their skin a bloody crimson, their eyes a scarlet red and elongated teeth and claws. Jay backed felt fear as he backed away from the creatures and then a new form came out of the woods. He had he bloody crimson skin, he scarlet light in his red eyes. The form gave a wicked smile, and Jay knew who it was Asher. The monster that had threaten him and Seth and become one of the monsters in truth. Asher approached Jay his eyes burning with a contemptuous hate. Jay ran attempting to escape but the other creatures moved and brought Jay down. The monsters pinned Jay on his back on the ground. Jay saw Asher approach over the curve of his belly a hateful smile on his face. Asher knelt and touch Jays belly with a clawed hand. The hateful smile widened as Asher ran a claw down his belly severing the tunic Jay had been wearing. Asher looked at Jay with a look that promised pain and suffering and set a claw on Jays exposed belly over his belly button and pressed down. Jay screamed as Asher began to cut open his belly.
Jay lurched up panicked from the Nightmare. He felt his flat belly and began screaming. Jay felt hands go around him and he screamed and thrashed before he heard Seths soft voice. “Jay it was a nightmare you're okay.” he said as he tried to comfort Jay. As Jay calmed down, he began to weep telling Seth of the Nightmare. “Asher is gone Jay; he can’t hurt you or our son ever again.” Seth said he leaned in a kiss Jay with this, and Jay kissed him back. Jay looked at the open room door where Rowan and Sky were looking into the room having been awoken by Jays screams. In Sky’s hand was a blanket wrapped bundle. Seth signaled for them to come in and Sky put the blanket wrapped bundle in Jay’s arms and he looked at their son just a few days old. He had wispy silver blond hair and silver eyes. Jay cradled their son as they set in early light of their home.
The next day Jay walked out of their home into a forest glad he looked around and saw the homes of others seemly grown into the forest. He saw elves and a few fays walk by for this was a sanctuary established by the elves. They had come there after the events in Silverleaf. When they had arrived, they were welcomed for Seth was on good terms with the Elves and Fay. After they had been settled into the Sanctuary. Rowan and Sky had been taken invited to train with the other elves and in the months, they had spent there. The two young elves had advanced their skill in combat and magic. With Rowan proving himself as an elven warrior having taken up the sword and training with other weapons it was likely he would be a weapons master. Sky’s skill seems lean more towards the scout. He was stealthy and agile and a skilled marksman and had learned to track any number of beings. As for Jay he refined his abilities as a magic user. He was found have skill in healing and destructive magics. Jay practiced and refined his healing magic more but was found when he used his destructive magics that he had the power of a living calamity. It was shortly after they arrived when learning new healing arts that Jay discovered he was pregnant. He told Seth and they both waited with anticipation for the birth of their child. When their child was born and it was a boy they welcomed their son to the world. Naming him Gabriel.
It was a few days after the Nightmare that a packet arrived at the sanctuary. The packet had a note and a manuscript addressed to Seth. The note was from a friend of Seth in the Hunters and told of book called “The Old Ones” and the manuscript was a translation from the book. Seth and Jay were horrified by certain passages including a very familiar passage. “I need to look into this” Seth said, “the note says that the book is in DarkVale”. “Why do you have to go alone Seth. Let me go with you or at least take Rowan and Sky,” Jay pleaded. Seth went to Jay and pulled him close and kissed him. “I will only investigate the book; I will not put myself in danger without some trustworthy support Jay” Seth said, “This needs investigation in case it is what we fear. Rowan and Sky need to finish their training, and Gabriel needs you here Jay” Seth left for DarkVale the same day.
Two weeks after Seth left for DarkVale a mysterious letter arrived. The letter only said that there was Danger to Seth in a city called Dusken. Jay knew that he could not ignore the potential of the letter being true and though it would mean leaving Gabriel in the sanctuary. Jay told Rowan and Sky about the letter and what was in it and they said they would go with him. With tears Jay put Gabriel in the care of a Fay that he had come to trust. He knew that the entire Sanctuary would protect Gabriel until he returned with Seth. Then Jay left for the city of Dusken with Rowan and Sky.
